Before talking about how to update your availability, let's understand what it means and why it matters.
Why do I need to update?
Turing has over 1M developers applied to our network, however, that doesn’t mean everyone is actively looking for work. In order to send the right opportunities to the right developers, our AI matching system considers your availability status and when you last updated it. By updating your “availability” you express interest in working with Turing clients. As long as you are interested in new offers from Turing, please make sure to update your availability every week. This will bump you on the search results and put you in front of recruiters sooner.
How can I update my availability?
To change/update your availability, just log in to your Turing profile and check the top-right hand corner . You will find your current availability status here.

After updating all required information, click on the ‘Update and continue’ button at the bottom right corner of the pop-up. And just like that, your availability is updated instantly in Turing's matching system.
Why did I receive an email to ‘update availability’?
We will send you emails inquiring about your current availability. In order to maximize your chances of getting hired, it's best to keep your availability updated according to your latest schedule. As long as you are looking for a new job, please make sure to update your availability weekly. The system will automatically consider you unavailable for new jobs after 30 days of your last availability update.
However, this email does not indicate that we already have an offer waiting for you. This is one of the criteria that is considered while screening for ideal candidates. In order to ensure your profile is eligible, please ensure the following:
- Clear the Turing quizzes and Coding Challenge.
- Update your resume properly (ask Turing for help if required).
- Update your availability, this can be done as shown above.
