How to Reset Your 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) on Turing
Last updated: May 21, 2026
If you are locked out of your Turing account because you no longer have access to your authenticator app or backup codes, you can request a 2FA reset by following the steps below.
Before You Request a Reset
If you still have access to your backup/recovery codes, you may be able to reset 2FA yourself:
Log in to work.turing.com.
Go to your profile Settings (top-right, under your name).
Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section.
When prompted for a 2FA code, choose the backup/recovery code option.
Enter one unused code from your recovery file.
Disable or re-configure 2FA and generate new recovery codes.
Tips when using backup codes:
Try each unused code in the file one at a time.
Make sure there are no extra spaces or formatting changes when entering or pasting the code.
If You Don't Have Backup Codes
If you no longer have access to your authenticator app and do not have your backup codes, you will need to submit a 2FA reset request for manual verification by the Turing support team.
Please fill out the following form:
https://forms.gle/q4hL9j9rP1HFYo8Q7
Once submitted, the team will verify your details against compliance records and reset your 2FA so you can log in and set it up again. Make sure any ID documents you attach are clear and legible — blurry images may delay processing.
IT-Related 2FA Issues (Slack, Google Account, etc.)
If your 2FA issue is related to Slack, your Google/Turing email account, or other IT systems (rather than the work.turing.com platform itself), please contact the IT support team directly:
When emailing IT support, include a screenshot of the specific error message to help them resolve your issue more efficiently.
After Your 2FA Is Reset
Once the support team confirms your 2FA has been reset:
Log in to work.turing.com using your personal email.
Set up 2FA again using your preferred authenticator app.
Save your new backup/recovery codes in a secure location.
If you were locked out due to a 2FA issue while attempting a withdrawal, navigate to the Workspace tab, then the Payments section, and retry the withdrawal after re-enabling 2FA.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a backup/recovery code look like?
Backup codes are single-use alphanumeric codes. When you first set up 2FA on Turing, a recovery codes file is generated (for example, youremail@example.com-recovery-codes-[timestamp].txt). Keep this file stored safely.
My authenticator code shows as "Invalid TOTP" even though I have the app.
This can happen if your device's time is out of sync. Try the following before requesting a reset:
Ensure your device's date and time are set to sync automatically.
Wait for a fresh code cycle and try again.
Try logging in via an incognito/private browser window.
Clear your browser cookies and cache.
If the issue persists after these steps, submit the reset form linked above.
